Mickey’s of Glendale Pop Up Shop

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the pop up store for Mickey’s of Glendale at the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. Every so often, Mickey’s of Glendale, the Imagineering store based out of Glendale, California, comes to visit the East Coast in order for D23 members and even cast members to buy some unique merchandise. The cast member shopping time was limited to one hour on the last day of the shop’s stay at the Contemporary Resort Convention Center. In that hour, I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse at some fantastic pins as well as some exclusive merchandise.

Many of the pins were unfortunately sold out by the time the store was open to cast members, but I did get to see some beautiful princess pins as well as pins that represented some “Dapper Dogs” from various Disney animated films. There were many different framed pin sets that you can see in the photos that I took.

With regard to other merchandise, there were many shirts that sported the WDI or Walt Disney Imagineering logo. There were hats, office supplies as well as some special merchandise to welcome the official opening of the new section of Disney Springs. Since this was the last day for the pop up shop, much of the merchandise was marked down, which was fantastic for me!

One really interesting piece of merchandise was a set of bags made by Rareform California that used pieces of banners from Walt Disney World in order to create bags, backpacks, wallets, and totes. One bag that called to me was the backpack created from the 100 Years of Magic Celebration banners from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Since I work at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this was particularly special to me. I can’t wait to check out what WDI has in store for us when Disney Pins Blog heads to the Destination D event in November!
