BREAKING NEWS: Avatar Land is Here.

Disney announced this morning (10/12/13) that Avatar Land will be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom.

This has been rumored for quite some time but I really didn't think it would come true. I'm not a fan of the AVATAR movie and I don't think this was the right move for the Walt Disney Company. Avatar is not a Disney movie and I think they could have thought of something better for DAK. How about something original? Like Pirates of the Caribbean or The Haunted Mansion was for Magic Kingdom. Those rides weren't based off of a movie and are some of the most popular attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

On a positive note, I know this new area will look gorgeous, especially at night! Which means I guess DAK will stay open longer now? Check out some of the concept art:

Given how nice New Fantasyland looks, this area will look very beautiful! Just wish is was a different theme...
