YAY !
Will they release a catalogue before registration? Cause not sure if I want a bunch of black and white nostalgic pins :/
Will they have pin pickup and trading on Thursday the 23rd like last year? Need to book airfare.
Yeah I believe so.
What’s the cost to register?
Will they bring back the breakfast this year?
How much are tickets to get into this event?? Thanks for the info; Disney Pins Blog rocks!! ?
They will be around $150. Thank you, Lana!! Appreciate it 🙂
Are the tickets sold per day? We will be there on the 24th, but not the 25th because we will be departing on a Disney cruise. What time is registration on the 23rd? We arrive at the airport around 6pm on the 23rd.
Hi Carol, Disney hasn’t released the itinerary yet. The tickets aren’t sold per day though, it is one price for both days. If you can’t make registration on the 23rd, you can still register/pick up your pins on the 24th. Hope that helps!
I think I am going to try to make it. I am new to trading so if I don’t have a ton of traders should that stop me?
Not at all! It’s fun just being there and talking with people and checking out the new pin releases. I would bring some Hidden Mickey or mystery pins for trading on the Cast Member boards though. 🙂
Hi how do you guys register for the event when the tickets come on sale ?
There will be a link available at disneypins.com. We will post it as well 🙂
there is no offical date yet.
What all do we get for the 150? any tips? FIrst time doing this.
Do you have the registration web site information? I haven’t been able to find anything online?
The registration will be posted on April 24th.
the disneypins.com site gets u disney shopping
Has anyone had an update on this as to what website the registration will be on now that disneypins.com leads you to ShopDisney?
I know right! It’s so weird how it’s not working
I have never been to a pin trading event, but my girls and I love pin trading. Can someone please explain to me how this all works? TIA! Kathleen Jimenez
You pay for the event by buying a ticket per person and registering on April 24th. The even consists of 3 days. Before the event Disney will release the pins that will be released at the event and you can pick what pins you would like to purchase. This isn’t guaranteed that you will be able to purchase all the pins you want however because it is randomly selected what pins everyone gets through a random selection process (RSP). So if you have good luck you will get all the pins you wanted however if you don’t you might get only some you wanted. the first day will be Thursday August 23rd, this is where any merchandise you decided to get can be picked up and paid for as well as receiving your itinerary and trading tabs and welcome pin gift. This normally occurs at a convention room in Coronado Springs where a bunch of tables are set up and everyone can bring their pins and you can trade. Normally if you are trying to complete the mystery pin set for the event this is where you would do it because everyone is running around trying to complete it this day. The second day is Friday August 25th, this is where you go to Epcot and stand in line to wait to trade on pin boards that are refreshed every so often. You only have generally either 4 or 5 trading tabs per person per day for the Friday and the Saturday. Once you are done using your tabs you can go to the curtained off section of the room where tables are set up for people to sit and lay out their books and trade. There is also merchandise you can buy at the event as well as displays of pins that will be release later on in the year as well as the sets that will be released in 2019 such as HM or the LE monthly pins. There is also a booth set up to see the WDI pins and DLP pins that will be release later on in the yer and in 2019. Either Friday or Saturday there is a scavenger hunt you do to receive a pin set as a gift that normally contains approximately 4-6 pins. Then on the Saturday you receive a goodbye pin set as a gift that is normally 4 pins. As well as artists signings who created he pins for the event. Its a great place to meet new friends who love pins or if you are searching for specific pins then generally with this many collectors you’re bound to find what you need. There is also games such as trivia, ect. that happens on both Friday and Saturday which if you are lucky enough t be randomly selected for then you can win some amazing prizes!
Hope this answers any questions you have!
I will not be able to attend the 2nd day of the event. Is it possible to talk to a CM and receive the goodbye pin set early, or have it shipped home?
Is there a catalogue that gets release of the RSP pins before you register? I just don’t want to spend the money registering for an event where I don’t want the pins.

Should be able to view all the items there Jen 🙂
How can you buy tickets for it when the site is not even up? When you go to it it takes you to shop Disney and to dooney and bourke.?? I don’t want to wait till it’s sold out. anyone?
good question. that is what i am trying to figure out
Is there a catalogue of pins that gets released before you purchase tickets? I don’t want to purchase the tickets only to find out that the pins in the RSP are not ones that are of interest to me.
In previous year’s they always release the pin preview a week before tickets go on sale. I don’t think they are doing that this year. I reached out to Disney and am awaiting a response.
Any update?
I’m also curious if anyone has any update yet? Registration is tomorrow and it’s still super confusing as to what is happening and where to go for it.
Thanks!
Is the catalog of pins available for this event? Haven’t been able to find information pertaining to the pins/registration.
Not yet. Pin previews will be released later today or tomorrow.
Ridiculous! After being on the phone with Disney for over an hour I am no closer to figuring the registration than I was before I called. They keep telling me that it is not an event run by Disney. The only place they can find it is on non Disney websites. I keep telling them that it is because the website is down. I have attended this event for years but if this is how it is going to be run now I will save my money. They maintain this is a third party event and not run by Disney?

They say it will be up today at DisneyWorld.com instead of the normal page it will be under Events at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/
If I am working the pin event will I have a chance to buy and get a pin or two signed
OK so I finally did get the phone number for Event services. Talked to a very nice cast member who told me that they were in the dark along with everyone else. She pretty much said it was in the hands of the people who have to approve the website before it is put up. She also confirmed what I knew all along which is that this IS a Disney run event. My biggest problem with this in this age of communication is their lack of it. In my opinion if the website isn’t ready postpone registration a couple of days or weeks until it is up and running?
I talked with a cast member friend, who is very much a pin trader as we all are. He said they were having major issues with the site and not sure if they would be up for the registration. If they are not he told me, and obviously VERY VERY VERY subject to change, they would post a brief note on the registration website.
When I saw the FB post under DPB today I was UBER excited and maybe they had some luck. I’ll see if my friend knows anything more by texting him, but he’s at AK lodge until 11, so it might not be until tomorrow that he sees it.
I’ve dreamt of going to one of these for years and this year our family trip happens to overlap though I would only be able to go on Friday. I am mostly only interested in the pins that come as part of admission as well as trading on the big boards. Can anyone tell me if 1) it would be worth going for just one day on Friday and 2) if I would still receive the gift pin / scavenger hunt set and goodbye pin if I’m only able to be there on Friday?
I think one day is still worth it. Lots of people will trade their trade stubs for pins, so you could trade your Saturday stubs to other people on Friday. You get the gift pin at check-in and the scavenger hunt pins are usually on Friday, so you should be good there. You might miss out on the goodbye pins though. Maybe if you let them know in advance you could get those on Friday or they could send them to you?
I can only speak of past years but I wouldn’t think it would be different this year. They will gladly give you all of the pins if you can only come one day.
@Larry, yes, it would be worth it going for even just a day. At least last year, you can pick up your gift/goodbye pins pretty much at any point during the event.
Made my reservation – how to I participate in the rsp? I cannot seem to find a link.
This is my first time going I’ll be looking for Disney dog pins!!!
We are on the waiting list for tickets. What are the odds we’ll get them and when will we know if we do or not? I live in Illinois so need to consider airfare and lodging.
My daughter is heartbroken because I missed the registration for this event. How would we find out if someone cancelled and, by some miracle, we were able to get a spot to attend this event? When will that kind of info be available and where would we find it? Thanks so much for any info available.
Virginia Rampley – Hi, my wife & I registered for the WDW 2018 Pin Event but cannot attend now. If you are interested in our two tickets / registrations, I will call event services Thursday (7-12-18) to see how we can transfer names & sell you our passes. Let me know what you think.

Hi SDD,
