Unfortunate timing. Was hoping it was in mid-July as early rumors suggested. There is a lot of overlap between attendees of this event and the Expo and 2 weeks apart is really not enough time to attend both for most.
What is the expo?
D23 Expo in Anaheim.
What exactly are fairy tales pins? I’m new to pin trading and never heard of these before. Would The Little Mermaid and Ariel be part of this collection?
The pin catalog should be released soon!
How do you get the pin catalog?
The catalog has been released as well as the itenerary.
Where do I find the pin catalog?
The catalog should be available to view on the day registration opens, May 7th.
Do you have to go to both days to get the goodbye gift? I have a weekday select pass and was just going to go on Friday…
Do you know when registration opens?
Ariel is more so a Princess, I think we will be seeing mostly Pets for this pin event
How do you buy tickets? Is there a link?
Registration will open sometime in April. We will update the blog post with the link when it’s ready!
Do we get a free pin when we go?
According to the above information, you will get a 6 pin set, a four pin set and a welcome pin. This is usually what you get.
Can we trade Disney fantasy pins as well or is it strictly only official Disney pins?
It’s strictly official Disney Pins.
Have my hotel booked! Really excited to see this years pins!
Has a date been set for when tickets go on sale? I feel like it should be very soon
I am checking daily. Does anyone know if it sells out quickly?
Last year took a few weeks to sell out.
Is it just me, or was there more info on this page last week?
I think I’m going nuts lol
There was. We were asked to remove some of the information until details are finalized. 🙂
Oh lol ok! Good to know I haven’t totally lost it ?
Any registration updates?!?!?!?
We usually have registration details much earlier, does anyone know what is taking so long for the announcement?
I would LOVE to attend! I’ve never been to a pin event before. How much do tickets usually go for? and do you have to go both days?
They are typically around $150
Any updates on when they will let us resister?
Any idea when registration will open?
And when will we see the pin catalog?? As a first time attendee, I hope, I am very curious.
Has anyone heard any updates regarding registration?
I’m wondering the same thing. This is crazy!
Maybe it is typical for an event like this to not release registration information when we’re almost 100 days away, but I find it non-disney like.
I register for run disney events at least 8 months or so in advance of the event, dvc vacation ownership allows me to book 11 months out at home resort or 7 months at other resorts, disney allows dining reservations 6 months in advance, and fast passes 60 days in advance.
Hi guys !
No this is not normal, but I’m sure we will be the first to know! Hopefully soon, I already have my hotel booked lol
This website wouldnt work for me yesterday so I got my hopes up that there would be an update. Im so antsy for this one!
We were having server problems yesterday and this morning. All should be good now though and FairyTails details are coming soon!
Define “Soon”, lol. ????
Omggggg I love ❤️ Disney pins and can’t wait
Hi, I know this event hasn’t even begun…But, I’m curious when the next event would be. Is this a yearly thing? Is it always themed? Will there only be pins related to Disney fauna?? SO MANY QUESTIONS! Oh and lastly, When’s registration?? :)))) thanks Admin and gang for all the replies!
Mack- This event is yearly. There smaller events that take place throughout the year. This event is always themed but the pins on the trading boards are everything and anything. Normally tickets would be on sale by now but ( I think ) D23 is setting things back a little. I am unsure by what you mean by fauna so I can’t answer that one lol!
Registration has less than 18 hours to open before the month of May hits. How many people here said registration would open in April? Just goes to show, YOU never really know.
Normally tickets do go on sale in April lol! I’m starting to get a little worried! Glad I booked trip insurance lol.
Im sure it will be fine, look on the bright side! We will have less time to wait for our pre-order pins!
Registration Opens May 7 at 1:00 pm
Really? Anyone got the catalogue yet?
Where can I register at?
whats the difference between the 2 admission prices?
What is difference between furry friend package and best in show package
There will be 100 “Best in Show” packages available (given the LE 100 edition side of the medallions). For $100 more dollars, you will get everything in the Furry Friends a special medallion, priority RSP processing (BiS RSPs processed before FFs), priority line access (special line for registration and first to get into the event each morning), two pin trading tabs with special Disney Partner Boards, a reserved spot in the Best in Show section of the Pin Trading area, along with the private scorn (and envy) from all of the other pin traders will have queued up in the virtual waiting room but unable to buy this “elite” perq due to the 100 spot limit.
It’ll be like the breakfast….. gone in seconds! anything to get extra $$ out of us. good luck to those who get it.
Hi! I’m new to this pin trading world and considering going to this event. But one question that I have and can’t seem to find an answer, so I’m hoping I could get some help. Is there a certain kind of pin we must have to trade on the trading boards? Like an LE ? Or is an open edition pin fine? Thanks in advance!
You can use any (real) Disney pin to trade on the board
Can you provide more information on you partner trade activity, like who are your partners.
So one just has to log onto some Link on May 7th, hoping to purchase a Ticket to the Pin Trading Event to WDW in Aug, is this correct? Does anyone know the Link?
Are the pins only available as pre-purchased via RSP? Will they allot any during the event to buy?
Correct, a few may be available at the store inside the event as well. Usually only a couple of pin sets remaining though.
My husband is planning on attending this event and I would like to come with, but I am not planning on trading or participating in any pin-related things at the event. Will I be able to enter the event and accompany him? Or do I have to purchase one of the two available packages in order to just be present? Any info anyone has on this would be great. Thanks!
does anyone know the site where we register for the August pin event? I can’t wait.
This May 6th and and we’re suppose to register on May 7th? Is it possible that tomorrow we do not register but rather they are only going to give us information about how to register and the date in the future when the registration will actually happen? Some clarity would be appreciated sooner rather than later.
All of the event information has been posted by Disney and the registration link will go live tomorrow (5/7) at 1pm ET.
Can you tell me what Disney site to look at? I can’t find it.
Thanks.
Wayne
Please disregard the last question. I’ll tune in to the fairy Tales site and wait for instructions.
what is the registration site address please?
I was in queue for the Best In Show package, but I was number 1004 when the queue formed. It sold out when it was showing there were 958 people in front of me. ?
I was able to get registered for the Furry Friend package. ?
I’m in. When can I order my pins???
Event sold out. All packages sold out in 40 minutes. I only got to register four of my five family members. Boo.
Call Disney Events, they let me add the last member of my family.
MATT U R LUCKY, BOTH NOW SHOW SOLD OUT. I CANT BELIEVE IT.
Sorry Terri, did you sign up for the wait list?
I was 195 for BIS when the queue went live. I got to 142 before it sold out. then I got the FFP. Can’t believe it is all sold out now.
Im so sad! Sold out! ugh, my heart 🙁
How many tickets does Disney sell to this event? Doesn’t seem like it is that many based on it selling out in 40 minutes, or is this just an extremely popular theme?
Matt, i was told 1200. last year it took a while before the event was sold out. last event that sold out that quickly was the villains in 2013. and yes! i got tickets. thanks for the concern.
Wasn’t able to get a spot for the event ): But I will be attending Public Pin Trading Day at Epcot on Sunday, Aug 11th! Does anyone have any more info on this? Will there be boards or tables? Or will it just be a designated space for collectors to meet and trade? I guess what I’m asking is what’s the difference between the FairyTales Event and the Public Pin Trading Day. Thanks!
