Walt Disney World February 2015 Pin Trading Night
By: Melinda Redman
On Friday, February 27, 2015, we attended the first pin trading event of 2015. There was quite a large turn out of pin and vinylmation collectors. Based on initial calculations I would say at least 100-150 pin enthusiasts showed up for the event. Registration began at 4pm, but the actual event did not begin until 6pm. The event was held at the Coronado Springs Hotel and Convention Center. This was truly a guest to guest pin trading event, Although Disney Merchandise was on hand to answer questions regarding upcoming pins and events over the next few months. They offered a look at new pins coming out over the past few months. Take a look at the WDW Pin Trading Night event recap photos below:
Below are photos of the new Fortune Cookie mystery set that will be available in March. These are absolutely adorable. The cookie is a heavy gold pin and the fortune slips into the cookie itself. They come in a Chinese takeout container! How cute is that? In the bottom left corner you can see how the fortune folds into the cookie pin leaving only the character showing.
This is the Chinese takeout container they will come in…
Here is a preview of the upcoming limited edition pins for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. I am very excited to see the Anna and Elsa topiary!
This jumbo pin is adorable!
New Marvel Pins making their way into the parks right now! Who is your favorite super hero?
Check out the new limited edition series for Star Wars weekend! Does anyone else really want the Mickey pin?
At the lower left hand corner you will see the collectible pin pack that features your favorite icons from the Star Wars movies, and two new Star Wars Stitch pins. These are all set to arrive in the parks during Star Wars weekends.
I have seen several versions of this new flip down pin. It holds together very well and it really something special! Take a look there is also an annual pass holder pin as well!
There is also going to be a new open edition mystery set and a brand new lanyard with images from Episode IV, V, and VI, it even has the Ewoks on it, which are my absolute favorites!
According to the representative we spoke to from Disney Parks merchandise there will be many more guest to guest trading event like this coming in the future and once they have everything up and running they hope to be able to bring a fun activity like setting to each event night. I look forward to seeing more events like this at Walt Disney World and creating new friends through the contacts and pin fanatics I met during my time at the event. Will I be seeing you at an event soon? If you are unable to attend the Walt Disney theme parks and you are interested in obtaining any of the pins you see, feel free to send us an email at [email protected] (Your Personal Pixie) and we will be happy to assist you with purchasing them!
