Walt Disney Imagineering Pleasure Island Pins
A pretty cool Pleasure Island mystery pin set was released at the D23 event back in November 2014. The event was called D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind. Click here to view our full event recap.
There was a mystery pin collection at the event specific to Pleasure Island. Pleasure Island use to be at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World® Resort.
I purchased three of these mystery pin boxes. Each box was $10.95 retail price and they contained one randomly selected pin. Here is the back of the Pleasure Island logo pin, which is pictured above. All pins are from Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and have the sorcerer hat print on the back.
The Pleasure Island mystery pin collection says on the box that they are limited release, but all of the pins are limited editions. It’s more of a limited release, limited edition pin set if that makes sense. Since it was only released at the D23 event, that’s why it was a limited release.
There are eight pins in total for this collection. Six of the pins are limited edition of 250. Then there is one chaser that is LE 150 and then there is a super chaser that is LE 100.
Here are the three pins I got from my mystery pin boxes! I got the Pleasure Island logo pin, Pleasure Island Jazz Co pin and the Rock N Roll Beach Club pin.
I didn’t get the chaser or super chaser but I was pretty happy with the pins I received! The chaser pin is of the Adventure’s Club and is limited edition of 150. The super chaser is a gold Pleasure Island logo pin and is limited edition of 100.
Even though I personally have never been to the clubs at Pleasure Island, I’m really happy Disney decided to release this set for the D23 event. It was a great way to look back at Disney history and celebrate the memories. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Have you ever experienced Pleasure Island at the Walt Disney World® Resort and do you miss any of the clubs?
It’s always nice to look back, but we are very excited for the changes at Downtown Disney and the new Disney Springs!
