Mickey’s of Glendale Pins – D23 EXPO 2015

Mickey’s of Glendale – D23 EXPO 2015
Besides the Disney Store and Disney Dream Store at the D23 EXPO, there was also a Mickey’s of Glendale pop-up shop! The Mickey’s of Glendale store had the largest selection of pins at the D23 EXPO. The average wait time for MOG was 2.5 hours.

Here is a look at some of the pins that were available. Of course some more more popular than others. For example, the Peter Pan’s Flight pin sold out that fastest. Also the Alice in Wonderland and Stained Glass pins sold out very fast as well.

MOG was definitely the best selection for Disney pins at the expo. Next time, we plan to hit this store earlier since a lot of the pins sold out rather quickly!
-Disney Pins Blog
Similar to the four versions of the 2013 D23 Expo Sorcerer Hat pin, MoG made different versions of their trademark Sorcerer Hat pin. The Thursday-Friday hat pin had a matte blue background with pale blue stars and crescent moon. The Saturday-Sunday version on a metallic blue background with gold stars and moon. It was annoying that MoG cast members denied that there were different versions of the sorcerer hat pin!
I had the same issue with the MoG CMs.
I thought the Mickey of Glendale was great. To a pin collector it was like a kid in a candy store. I was taken by it all I walk away not seeing all that was there. I know it is hard to visit the store. Having stopped collecting Disney pins 3 years ago but with the 60th I have began again. I back those years ago knew a bunch of cast members but all that I knew are gone and I do not know anyone who could come with me to the store allowing me to visit there. I have, in the past coming with others who knew a bunch of cast member and they let me join with them but they are gone also. I am going to stop by with a pin I bought at the EXPO that the stem came off. I would like to be able to exchange it for another one and maybe I can talk himself in to see the store. I am a collector, not a dealer. I Disneyland official called me a pure collector so I hope some day to be able if for no other reason just to look around. I was at Disneyland opening day, coming back the next day when the public came in. I some months later had the honor of having Mr. Disney come up to myself and 5 other kids and talk to us about what we thought of the park. We indeed will never forget my saying that he did want it to be a fun zone like a fair. Guess what when DCA opened that is exactly what it was. I was a cast member then and I with my wife and 2 of our daughters and their husbands we walk though the park the night before it opened and with nothing anything being said by me they all stopped and said, “this is not going to work”. It was exactly what Walt Disney did not want. Now you all are heading putting into what Walt wanted. But the prices of admission and annual passes are out of our budget to enjoy it all as we once did being annual pass holders but when it went up to $500.00+ my wife and it let them go. As grandparents we would love to take our family to Disneyland but is just too much just to get in the door. Oh well, I am collecting pins and as long as Pin Traders is there I can get what I want minus annual pass pins. The memory of meeting Walt himself will always be there and is not subject to any pricing.
