Limited Edition Holiday Pins
By: Jennifer Romano
Every year, Walt Disney World® Resort produces beautiful limited edition pins for the holidays, and this year was no exception. I purchased several of the pins that celebrated the various gingerbread displays located at many of the resorts. The contemporary had a display in honor of the characters from Frozen, so of course, Olaf was showcased on the pin. On the day I purchased the pin, I was the last lucky person to get the last pin that they had in stock! I also had the opportunity to have the pin signed by one of the pastry chefs who helped to create the beautiful display. This was an amazing opportunity!

Back of Olaf Gingerbread House Disney Pin
This year, the pin for the Grand Floridian featured Minnie Mouse dressed as Mary Poppins, so that was another pin that I just had to purchase! The gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is always so gorgeous! I know that the Boardwalk Inn and Villas also had a pin this year, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to snag that one. Sadly, this year was the last year for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, so there were two pins created to commemorate the occasion. I bought both pins because the Spectacle of Dancing Lights is something that I will sorely miss. This was always a holiday tradition for my family! One pin is adorned with Minnie and Mickey, and the other is decorated with Olaf. I also bought the passholder shirt for the last year of the lights as well as the limited edition ornament.
Finally, every year, I always buy the limited edition New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day ornament. I started collecting these when I was in high school, and my dad would patiently wait in line to purchase the pins before they sold out. Even though my dad is no longer with us, I like to carry on this tradition. I always make it a point to purchase the pin and add it to my collection!
