Disney Pins Blog & Give Kids The World
Collecting Disney Pins is a wonderful way to spread Disney Magic all over the world even when you are not visiting one of the Disney Parks. Through pin trading, we here at Disney Pins Blog have met so many kind people both at WDW and even in our hometowns. Because we have such a wonderful community of followers, we thought it was time to give back to that community by forging a partnership with Give Kids The World.

After visiting the Give Kids The World website, we learned that “The story of Give Kids The World begins with a little girl with a wish and the desire of one man to make that wish come true. The little girl’s name was Amy. Amy had leukemia and one wish – to visit the theme parks in Orlando. To facilitate Amy’s wish, the request of a complimentary stay was made to a respected hotelier. As he had done many times before, the hotelier gladly obliged and Amy’s wish was that much closer to being realized. Sadly, the remainder of Amy’s travel plans took too long to arrange and her wish was never granted; Amy had passed away. Time simply ran out.
This unfulfilled wish inspired a man, the hotelier, to make a vow that no child in need would ever be failed again. That man was Henri Landwirth and his desire to ensure that Amy’s story would never repeat itself is where the story of Give Kids The World begins.”
Here at Disney Pins Blog, we want to be a part of that legacy of helping children who want to experience the magic of a Walt Disney World vacation in order to escape the worries of their very difficult lives. These vacations are ways for the parents and the children to feel “normal” again, a time to be away from doctors and hospitals and just let their imaginations soar!
Walt Disney World is a Platinum corporate sponsor of Give Kids The World, and since we are all part of the Walt Disney World Community, we feel like its time to join in with all that the Walt Disney Company is doing in order to support this very important charity endeavor.
The Give Kids The World website states that “For many of our families, taking a fantasy vacation like a trip to Walt Disney World is a dream that is far beyond their reach. With the support of Walt Disney World, Give Kids The World has the ability to provide an amazing experience at all four of the beloved Walt Disney World parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Each family member and the Wish Child receive three-day park hopper tickets, free of charge. The Wish Child’s GKTW “Magic” button and a WDW Guest Assistance Pass provides “fast pass” service to the families, allowing them to fully enjoy the attractions offered at each park and cost-free parking! In their traditional style, Walt Disney World Cast Members provide excellent guest service to the families as well including an invitation to the Wish Lounge, located at the Magic Kingdom. This special room is dedicated to wish children and their families, recognizing the special needs and attention of each family.
Back at Give Kids The World Village, Walt Disney World’s favorite characters visit twice a week – providing personal photo opportunities. Each family receives a printed portrait with the characters, presented in a specially designed Disney portfolio. Walt Disney World has also found unique gifts to share with our families including donations of favorite Disney DVD’s.
Beyond their contribution of donations, Walt Disney World promotes volunteerism through their VoluntEARS program – a priceless gift of the heart. Walt Disney World Cast Members are found serving meals, scooping ice cream, face painting, greeting families at the airport, landscaping, painting, and even entertaining our families through events and shows hosted at GKTW Village. There is no job too small or too big for this crowd!
Without the incredible support of Walt Disney World, Give Kids The World would not have the ability to fulfill the wishes of these special children. Together, we will continue to inspire hope in the children of Give Kids The World by encouraging children to dream, imagine, and wish upon a star.”
While everyone in our community here at Disney Pins Blog may not be able to visit Walt Disney World all of the time, helping to support our Give Kids The World Campaign will help other families in need visit the Vacation Kingdom of the World. You will be helping to spread the magic to others who are in desperate need of a respite from their daily lives.
Walt Disney said, “you can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” We have become a strong community here at Disney Pins Blog, and we would love for you to join us in supporting our new adventures with Give Kids The World!

Dear Disney Pin Blogs,
This is simply beautiful. My younger brother and I were both Make a Wish Children when we were younger. He chose to come to WDW and we stayed at Give Kids the World. It was absolutely amazing and he had the best time. He is now 22 and healthier, I am 26 and was inspired to move to FL and work at Disney to help make magic happen for other children. I became interested in pins only a couple years ago by working in the parks. I have since moved from FL but would like to go back when I can. Thank you for being so caring and for helping other people’s dreams come true. This really warmed my heart, if it wasn’t for people like you my brother would never have had that experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Hi Baleigh, thank you so much for the kind comment! We love what we do and try to help GKTW as much as we can. It truly is a magical place. So happy to hear your brother had a good time and is now healthier.
