Gearing up for Fall & the Holidays at Disney

Gearing up for Fall & the Holidays at Disney

By: Anthony Barnasconi

Like it or not, summer is moving quickly and fall is fast approaching.  Before we all know it, there will be talk of football, Halloween and Christmas things already appearing in stores everywhere.  Fall and the Holidays are always exciting seasons at Disney and this year is sure to bring the same great feelings experienced year after year.

Disney just announced the return of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights for the 21st season.  The lights will be on every night from November 6, 2015 thru January 3, 2016 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and are included in the admission to the park.  This yearly holiday tradition sets millions of lights to music and even throws in a little snow from time to time.  It is a great way to put a big red bow on a great day spend at DHS and fun for the entire family.

Of course, long before Disney gets into the Christmas spirit, there is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.  This special ticket party features trick-or-treating for the kids, many characters dressed in Halloween costumes and Eerie Entertainment for the whole family.  MNSSHP takes place in the Magic Kingdom from 7:00pm – 12:00am on the following dates: September 15, 18, 20, 22, 25 & 27 – October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 & 31 – November 1.  Ticket prices start at $68.00 and guests are permitted to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume for the party.  This is a great time of year to see all the Disney parks dressed up for fall and attending MNSSHP is a great ticketed event for the entire family to attend.

On the heels of MNSSHP, after a few days transformation of the parks, is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  Similar to Mickey’s Halloween Party, MVMCP is a winter celebration (as winter as you can get in Central Florida) for live entertainment, fireworks spectaculars and a jolly holiday parade.  Also a great event for the entire family, MVMCP takes place in the Magic Kingdom from 7:00pm – 12:00am on the following dates: November 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20 & 29 – December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17 & 18.  Ticket prices start at $74.00 and the chance to see Cinderella’s Castle dressed up for the holidays is well worth the price of admission.  The event also includes Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade and the ever-so-popular Holiday Wishes fireworks display.

Also available this fall is Disney’s Night of Joy at the Magic Kingdom September 11 & 12.  This night of spirited Contemporary Christian Music features some of the most well known names in Contemporary Christian Music and runs from 7:30pm – 1:00am each night.  Tickets start at $65.00 per person/per night and there are group discounts available for parties of 10 or more.

If you are more of an Epcot fan than Magic Kingdom, fear not, the 20th annual International Food & Wine festival takes place at the World Showcase again this fall from September 25 – November 16 2015 and features culture and cuisine with the finest wine and beverage offerings from around the world.  You can enjoy demonstrations & seminars, dining & tasting events and an incredible display, available to taste & enjoy, of great foods and beverages from around the world.  Throw in the Eat to the Beat concert series and it is sure to be a party you won’t soon forget.  The International Food & Wine event is included in the price of admission to Epcot, however certain experiences and events do require a separate admission fee.

If that weren’t enough fall & holiday fun, be sure to check out all the parks as Disney truly transforms into each holiday season like no one else.  From the Voices of Liberty singing holiday favorites at the American Adventure in Epcot, to the moving Candlelight Processional, the traditional telling of the story of Christmas, held 3 times each night during the holiday season at the American Adventure theatre, there is always a great holiday experience to enjoy at a Disney Theme Park.

Gear up for the holidays everyone and enjoy all that your favorite Disney Theme Park has to offer.
