Downtown Disney (Disney Springs) Parking for Pin Traders
By: Matthew Diaz
Dear fellow pin traders,
Pin trading is an exciting activity to do around Walt Disney World but in my opinion, the best place to pin trade is in Downtown Disney. Now since Downtown Disney is currently in construction to become the new Disney Springs, parking has become a little bit of an issue.
As of right now the parking garage on the West Side is open, providing five floors of parking. The Marketplace parking area as well as the old Pleasure Island parking area is now closed due to construction to build another parking garage on the Marketplace side of Downtown Disney. This leaves us pin traders to walk all across Downtown Disney in order to get to the Marketplace to go to our favorite pin trading store. But little do some people know that there is now parking available to guests at the Disney Casting Center parking lot, which is right across the street to the Marketplace. After parking, guests can easily walk across the street, and end up in the side of the Marketplace between Basin and the World of Disney. Guests can also bypass the parking garage by parking in the Team Disney parking area (which is also available to guests) and it is right across the street from the West Wide parking garage.
This saves a lot of time and stress for guests just wanting to go to the Marketplace especially since Disney has just announced that parking will be more of an issue now then ever before. To accommodate for a more efficient construction process Disney has decided to no longer provide an entrance for guests to one of the two entry points into the west side parking garage.
The best advice that I could give you if you want to go to Downtown Disney is to avoid the West Side parking garage and take advantage of the Disney Casting Center parking area to get to the Marketplace easier.

Thanks for the tips on parking! I usually only go to the Marketplace, so I will look for the Casting Center parking area this weekend.
You’re welcome!
Just to let you know you can only park in the Casting Center parking lot after 5:00 P.M. Week nights and on weekends. Before 5 they are using it for the Casting Center and will not let shoppers park there. You can park behind the Hess station. It is a little further to walk but not that bad.
I stopped by Pin Traders on my way from the airport to my timeshare condo. It took me 40 minutes to get from Vineland to the Casting Center parking lot! There was plenty of parking, just a lot of traffic on the Saturday night before Mother’s Day.
