Does Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort have pin trading? The answer is YES!
So I recently took a road trip to Disney Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina. Here is my trip report.
December 28, 2013
I arrived at Disney HH after a short stay in Charlotte, NC the prior night. On Saturday morning my friend and I woke up and made our journey down to SC which took about 4-5 hours because we ran into traffic on I-95. Once we arrived around 2 p.m. we checked in and got our room. We were actually in the very first room at the resort which was 1111.
The cast members at the front desk were very nice and friendly! They gave us “1st visit” buttons and coupons for local restaurants. After checking in we headed straight to the beach!
It was raining but still very fun. The beach house is only 1 mile away across the street. After checking out the beach, we got a beer at Signals which is the quick service restaurant at Disney’s Beach House. After that we headed back to the resort and I did some pin trading with the cast members at the front desk! Then we decided to go to dinner. We chose a restaurant called Kingfishers, which is a restaurant near the entrance of the resort. We only had about a 2 minute walk across the bridge to get there. It was a yummy dinner and they have great drink specials as well! I had Tilapia and wine.
After dinner we walked back to our room and got ready for a night swim! We headed to the resort pool and hot tub. The pools are heated so it wasn’t a problem at all! It was nice being able to swim outside in December! I believe the outside temperature was in the low 60s. The hot tub was really nice as well. I recommend going down the water slide! It is pretty fun. All in all the first day was pretty magical!

Sunday was probably my favorite day at the resort. That is because it was 70 degrees and sunny all day long! The weather was perfect. When we woke up we ate breakfast at the resort which was delicious! I also hit up the gift shop and bought some Disney HH merchandise like a shirt, hat, and pins of course! After that we hit up the hot tub and swimming pool again for a little bit. Then it was lunch time already! We ate at the quick service place at the resort again. I had a Mahi Mahi sandwich with a strawberry daiquiri. YUM!
After lunch, it was time for the BEACH! It was so gorgeous we decided to spend all afternoon at Disney’s Beach House and walk the shore. A lot of people were out on the beach and I even put my feet in the water. It was freezing of course, haha!
After the beach, we went back to our room to get ready for dinner. We decided to try this mexican restaurant called San Miguel’s. It was within walking distance just across the marina. The food was excellent! I had a chicken quesadilla with a few adult beverages. 🙂
Finally, we made it back to our room and just relaxed for a bit. Then around 10 p.m. we decided to hit up the beach again and look for crabs. Haha! We used our flashlights on our phones. It was low tide and we saw a few hermit crabs. After that we headed back to the resort and went to bed. Successful day!

This was the sad day. Departure day. 🙁
We woke up around 7 a.m., got some breakfast and I did some last minute pin trading at the front desk. I also bought a couple of mystery pin packs to open when I got home. We checked out and left the resort around 9 a.m.
Then it was time to watch the temperature decrease on our 12 hour drive back to Pennsylvania. YAY!
My take on Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort
When we arrived at the resort I pleasantly surprised by how it is laid out. It is VERY relaxing. If you are expecting to be on the go nonstop like Walt Disney World, this is not the place. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the resort is nestled in palm trees and willow trees surrounded by the marsh. You can find adirondack chairs and hammocks all around the resort for relaxing.
The resort does not have a sit down restaurant, only quick service. If you want alcohol, the small gift shop on site has beer and wine.
In conclusion, I loved Disney HH and would definitely go back again! It is a relaxing old southern feel with a touch of Disney magic!
Pin trading at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort
If you are looking to pin trade then you are in luck! Mostly all of the cast members have lanyards for trading, plus there is a pin trading board near the swimming pool at Broad Creek Rentals. If you are looking to buy pins, the gift shop has a small collection of rack pins, limited editions and mystery packs. See pictures below:
