Disney College of Knowledge Pins
By: Anthony Barnasconi
So in May 2015 I was presented with an opportunity to become a member of an incredible team of people…doing something I am very passionate about…Disney! I decided to join the Ears of Experience team and start a Disney Destinations Travel Concierge service…specializing in only Disney Destinations travel. As a part of the Ears of Experience team you can book and plan magical vacations to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney and Aulani – a Disney resort in Hawaii. Being a life long Disney freak…like most of us here, I thought it would be a great fit and I must say…so far it is. I have met some incredible people along the way and have gained a tremendous amount of Disney knowledge…even more than I had as just a frequent guest. I have always been fascinated with just about anything related to Disney and this is no exception…but I digress. This is, after all, the leading Disney Pin information site and this IS an article about some very unique Disney Pins.
As part of this whole process, the first thing you are required to do is graduate from the Disney College of Knowledge. The Disney College of Knowledge is a series of 5 modules…1 for each of the Disney Destinations you are allowed to book travel excursions for. You must listen to each module and pass a test at the end of each module. Once you have completed all 5 modules, there is a final 50 question test that you have to pass to become certified. Once you have graduated, you become a certified Disney Travel Agent. Along with some really cool perks like a DTA website login, a once a year travel allowance and many opportunities for continuing education, one of the coolest perks is your graduation kit. When you graduate you can sign up to receive this kit which includes a very nice certificate and a VERY cool set of Disney College of Knowledge pins…5 in all…1 for each of the 5 Disney Destinations available for you to book and plan vacations.
Since I have started my business, Tony’s Magical Travel, I have met a lot of great people along the way. One of the first things I noticed is that partnering with someone else affiliated with Disney would be a good idea. I am a very avid collector of Disney Pins and I happened to already be familiar with Disney Pins Blog…just as a subscriber to the great content you can find here. I took a chance and emailed our good friend Ryan about becoming a guest blogger and he was very receptive to the idea. I wrote a couple of blog posts for this site and then started talking to him about doing a weekly podcast. Again he was very open to the idea and said he had already given it some thought…but might need someone to go along with him to get it started. I volunteered to be that person and the Disney Pins Blog podcast was born. To make a long story even longer…we are now 15 episodes into that venture and becoming a member of the Disney Pins Blog staff was a win win for all of us. I have since met most of the other staff members and as Ryan puts it…”we really do have a great staff here”. When I received my set of Disney College of Knowledge pins, the first thing I did was text Ryan a picture of them…just because I knew he would really appreciate them. His first response was, hey you should write a blog post about these…they are really cool. So I sat down and wrote my thoughts. I am thrilled to be doing something affiliated with Disney, I am humbled to be a part of this staff, not only for the great information we provide here…but for what they stand for and the great things they do every day. Thanks for reading this rather wordy blog post and remember…Disney Vacations make a great Christmas Present!!! Click here to start your adventure.
Until next time…happy pin trading!
