The pin release has been delayed again.
Just placed my order (10:40 CST). We’ll see if it ships.
I was super surprised to see it in stock tonight. I forgot all about the release just as I had forgotten the first time. I guess surprise releases are one way to curb resellers. I missed out on Oliver & Co. I see that after all the people who were willing to pay $70 on eBay were all gone, we are left with tons and tons of listings for $60, none selling. I’m not paying $60 though. At some point, sones gotta give up and go much lower, right?
I was delighted to see that it was available this morning and placed my order. Yesterday it showed delayed on facebook, and I was surprised to see it soon after on the sight. Me and my Husband are huge Disney fan’s and we sadly also missed out on the Oliver & Company light up pin, and the Pizza Planet pin that we had really hoped for and the cheapest on Ebay for that pin was like 48 for used and a new sealed one was over 60. The earlier pin releases flew off the website in a matter of minutes, truly believe it was a bot ordering. Now the recent pins have been on the site longer including Spider-man, Pocahontas, and Hercules. Those were still available weeks after the release, the Hercules pin just sold out either yesterday or this morning. I completely agree about not wanting to pay $60 dollars for a single pin, especially one that was originally only $25 dollars. It sadly reminds me of the great bot buying of the Disney Nurse Day 2020 pin. I was hoping to buy one for my best friend who is an actual Nurse, but they sold out in a matter of seconds. Originally was like 18 dollars or whatever, but now on ebay anywhere from 109.99 to 200 dollars for a single pin, it is crazy and a lot of greed from these bot sellers. Hopefully this will eventually end.
I remember that. And that’s what they were SELLING for, meaning people were actually paying that price. If people wouldn’t pay that price, people wouldn’t buy to resell. That’s why I’m glad those Oliver & Co pins are sitting at $60. Sellers need to know that that was a bad idea, and consider not doing it again. Maybe that’s WHY we both were so lucky at getting the Goody Movie pin, They felt like the profit wasn’t there (there’s multiple fees involved in such listings) and chose not to do it again. (Though surprise releases helps too)
I agree, I really wish Loungefly and Disney would both close the loophole for bot buyers to buy up every single pin in a matter of seconds, and then they quickly flood ebay and other auction sites with them at outrageous mark ups. So I am happy both of us were able to order a Goofy pin. I have been waiting patiently for this release, since it was announced and then it was cancelled the first time, since Loungefly did not have the pins at their warehouse. It was a nice surprise to see that they released the pin only hours late and not another month like the last delay. The Oliver & Company pin would have been a nice pin to have, since it had the awesome light up feature, but at $60+ not interested. That is like paying for 2 Loungefly releases. Yeah the listing fees on the auction sites, can get pretty high if you are listing several items at one time, so hopefully people won’t buy them, and maybe as you said people will think twice, before buying up a large chunk of the inventory. As I said the Pizza Planet one was kinda upsetting, I was right in the middle of checkout filling out my cc information it was in the cart, and all of a sudden flashed Sold Out and dropped from my cart.
I’m a reseller. Don’t worry. It’s nothing limited, the company has plenty of stock. Same item, for years, just people would rather shop eBay or amazon than google a simple keyword (the company is actually the top result, above my listings) Product is $40 on their site, and I sell it for $70. Seems outrageous, but as of Oct 2019, I’ve had to pay taxes on the product. So taxes, plus, when it sells, I pay PayPal and eBay fees (you are only charged fees when sold)… I am lucky to get a $5 profit. These loungefly and ShopDisney orders have to not only pay tax, but shipping to their house as well. So they’re actually making even less money. Now, if they can get a discount due to annual pass holder or something, then maybe there’s a little profit there, but I’ve heard of Disney actually monitoring that sort of stuff. They’ve actually canceled people’s AP who were resellers. But I think those were high profile resellers that they wanted to make an example of.
Yeah I am not against resellers, I myself have sold some stuff on Ebay. But these blatantly clear bot sellers they scoop up an entire inventory in seconds so no one can get one is bad business. Yeah depending on what product you are buying and from what state or territory you are located businesses might charge tax. For a while we had a sweet deal and ordering from Amazon since they never charged tax, but few years back they started taxing orders, even though a lot of orders ship from out of state. Yeah we order and we see how the shipping and taxes can quickly pile on if someone is trying to buy in bulk. But from a Ebay seller myself, I always go to manufacturer first. If its sold out I then look and then personally contact an Ebay seller, so that I can buy direct from the reseller, so the price is not as high because then they would not have to pay the fees associated on Ebay or wherever. 40 to 70 does not seem that outrageous not considering listing fee’s and what not. The thing I find outrageous is like what I mentioned a 18 dollar pin going for 100-200 dollars on Ebay.
How do you buy from an eBay seller outside of eBay? They auto scan every message, preventing you from sending out phone numbers and email addresses. I’ve had local people that wanted to pick up a purchase, and wanted to give them this info so they can be in better contact with me, since we could not agree on a set time, just when they happened to be done with all the chores they needed to do in town. They had to wait for me in a parking lot for a lengthy time as a result.
I find a seller and we contact via email, and then pay through Paypal, not through Ebay directly. They might have cracked down on that more recently, because for a while I was able to email the seller and buy direct from them. I never met them in person but stayed in contact with email. So yeah I dont mind reseller’s, but first place I go is the original retailer.
