I was looking for an explanation of the pin release process and wasn’t able to find one, are pin releases still at Pin Traders in Downtown Disney?
What time do the releases start? When should I get there? Thanks in advance!November 7, 2018 at 12:53 PM - Views: 83 #37539
Are you talking about the weekly limited edition pin release?
If so, then the pin releases happen at all major pin trading store including pin traders in downtown disney but also the pin stores in the park such as 20th Century Music Company, Westward Ho Trading Company, and Little Green Men Store Command in Disneyland and Julius Katz in DCA. Pin releases start at the opening time of the store and there is usually a line. Certain pins being more popular will sell out quicker others may have larger quantities and will sell out over a longer period of time.
If you men open edition pin releases, then its mostly random. They are just on the shelves usually under the new section. I hope this helps.November 7, 2018 at 1:30 PM - Views: 79 #37540
Thanks for the response! Yeah I was referring to the weekly limited pin release.
Do you think my best option would be to go into the park since it opens earlier than pin traders? Pin traders doesn’t open until 10am 🙁 I feel like Pin traders would have more stock but it’s not open until laterNovember 9, 2018 at 7:12 PM - Views: 83 #37629
If you can then yeah it is always safer to go in the parks solely because it is earlier. I always go at opening and have never had anything run out before i was able to purchase. Having so many pin stores in Disneyland also usually helps spread the crowd so the lines aren’t unreasonable.
Only once have I seen a pin sell out before the end of the first day so as long as you go as early as you can and make sure to check all the stores, you will probably be fine.December 10, 2018 at 5:04 AM - Views: 76 #40524
I’m new here but I wanted to follow up with a specific question. I just relocated to the LA area and I’m very interested in heading over to Downtown Disney to grab the Horned King Windows of Evil pin on its release date this upcoming Thursday. I don’t have an annual pass yet, so the kiosk in Downtown Disney seems like my only option. If anyone knows, how far in advance would you recommend showing up? I’ve heard there can be long lines.. Thanks!December 11, 2018 at 1:01 AM - Views: 90 #40558
Yes I believe the Pin Traders in Downtown Disney is a good option and should have it. (I don’t know from personal experience but I think I heard people say that is where they went for the last one)
If you don’t mind an extra early morning, I’d recommend arriving 6:30am-7:15am. The parks open at 8 and Disneyland will start letting people in around 7:30. I’m not sure but the one in Downtown Disney may open early too because it is such a big release. I heard people behind me saying they got there at 5am. I’m not sure if that is physically possible but I got there around 7 and there was at least 100 people ahead of me. And everyone was buying more than 1. Some people I saw at starbucks had 8 and 10 so I’m not sure how that’s possible, but they are buying extras and the pins sell out extremely quickly.
And make sure to give yourself enough time to get parked and go through security as that can take 15-30 minutes. I hope this helps.December 11, 2018 at 7:38 PM - Views: 76 #40577
