Anyone else having problems getting on the pin pics site…….has been 3 days now that I can’t get on. Safari says server is dropping the connection. Trying to get pins ready for the event and really need this site working.August 7, 2018 at 1:05 PM #33004
Same for me for about 3 days now. Sometimes get in then I get the White Screen of Death. Wish they would fix/upgrade the Web site and spend less time on Pinopolis stuff.August 7, 2018 at 5:26 PM #33013
They are currently working on getting the site back up.
A future website update will include upgraded servers as well.August 9, 2018 at 10:23 AM #33059
I have been having problems as well and I don’t seem to be getting as many pin trade requests or responses as I used to? Do traders not use the site as much anymore?August 11, 2018 at 7:33 AM #33103
The site is the worst of the worst. Since last Friday this has been my experience:
I click to sign in
*This page isn’t working*
*This page isn’t working*
(Times this by 4)
*You aren’t logged in!*
(Yes, it takes so long to log in by the time it loads it’s logged me out!)
Like several popular sites, they try to ‘improve’ things by making the site work like utter crap, and by the time they’re finished everyone had abandoned them.August 12, 2018 at 12:30 PM #33143
Personally, I would boycott/avoid all of their other stuff (Pinopolis games, pin trading events, etc.) until they put the focus and effort into fixing the PinPics site. While it is not a direct revenue sources for them, it is vital to us collectors to stay in touch with this hobby. I did “systems” work for over 25 years and trust me, the issue that is going on now can be resolved very quickly if desired. Obviously they choose to spend there time and effort in other areas. The fact that they”do not own the servers” is not an excuse to have your premier entry point to the hobby crippled and out of service.August 13, 2018 at 2:12 PM #33195
Thanks, Ryan! I sure hope it’s soon. I love updating there and sharing for trades. 🙂August 13, 2018 at 2:14 PM #33196
Actually…Is there someone that admins the Pinpics Facebook site, that could update messages there? The last message is from January 2017, talking about how the site is up and running now. They could at least let folks know its under construction for bigger and better improvements. (Instagram, too. Since we are all searching for the hidden Pinopolis pages!)August 17, 2018 at 4:36 AM #33369
Hi when is the pinpics site expected to be back up? I can’t see any photos on my laptopAugust 19, 2018 at 7:49 PM #33519
This post is almost two weeks old, and still no fix. I would expect this if their server were their own home computer, and either their IP address changed without their knowledge, or hardware broke, or a virus, but they don’t even own their server? Almost all hosting providers have multiple servers to prevent any of these scenarios. I know of a few rare cases, but they were either up and running again within 24 hours, or gave up on life itself. Since these rare cases were back in the Web 1.0 days, I cannot see it happening again, unless maybe, the site’s owner was using his company’s server to host his site, and after years of free hosting, he was laid off, with the site either breaking right before, or soon after.
Right now it looks as though it tries to load, but then forwards me to an indexT.php. I do not know what the original was supposed to be, but sometimes when the original loads, it will still try to go there. So something is telling it to forward to the broken php. If I am quick about it, I can search a keyword, and pull up results, but none of the images pull up, so that portion of the site is broken too.
I agree that it is frustrating. I buy a lot on eBay, and have found many sellers that will include pinpics numbers, and even copy and pasted descriptions. So clearly this is a seriously respected, useful, and highly visited site that it would make no sense for it’s owners not to invest in. And who improved and updates any site without 1) backing up the original, 2) testing the new in an unlive setting 3) immediately testing flaws during the live, and then 4) when flaws cannot be immediately fixed, go back to the original until you can.August 19, 2018 at 10:16 PM #33523
Same here. I’m unbelievably mad. There has to be a contact page, right? Somewhere we can say “Hey! Your site is down!”August 20, 2018 at 5:05 PM #33580
Unfortunately they don’t do anything with their PinPics social channels anymore. All communication is on the Pinopolis Pin Games Facebook page. Here is what they posted yesterday:
Official update. On Aug 5th the hosting site did a security update. It broke our site. We have been waiting patiently for the hosting site to fix our server. We made progress with them last night and hope that the site will be up and running again by tomorrow. We are not going out of business, quite the opposite! We have a great team working on the issue and know it will be fixed. We understand the frustration. We are working with the hosting site 24/7 to get the site up so you have time to check your accounts before the event! I personally look forward to meeting all of you this week! 🙂August 21, 2018 at 6:25 PM #33593
It seems to be running now. I added a few pins and no crash

I was excited to read your post this morning, and the main page loaded just fine with newly added pins, but when I searched for a specific character, it did the very same thing it did before, load the page, then immediately forward me to a “cannot find page” screen. In the event that the site was just cached somehow, I went into privacy mode, and searched for characters I never had before, with the same result. At least today it loads the images of those pics before telling me it can’t find anything.
Same result on your end?August 22, 2018 at 1:02 AM #33608
Oh yeah, I just checked it now. Its running like garbage but loading. I was using it earlier for about an hour, pretty heavily, and it was running just fine. Maybe they are at the tail end of fixing it and we only need to be patient another day or two
