Hi. Does anyone have an idea how long the limited edition pins are available before they sell out? I’m wondering if I have any chance to get one on an upcoming trip to Disney World. It seems like there are lots of professional pin shoppers who then resell. Also, where exactly are the LE pins sold? In a particular store in a particular park? is this information published somewhere? I’d like to get something that isn’t open edition. Thanks.
Depends on the pins youre looking for. The ones that are on both coasts tend to last until the next pin of that set comes out (Popular characters/movies will sell out quicker of course). The ones that are only sold at WDW or WDL last a week or two I would say. The most popular sets (Like the Widows of Evil currently at Disney Land were selling out in a few hours. So its really a crap shoot as to whether it will last or not. If the resellers are making tons of money off a pin set, like the Windows they will start showing up in droves and buying up all that they can. So essentially the “Better” the pin the quicker it’ll sell out.
There are people on instagram and facebook and stuff that will do pickups for you that won’t overcharge you. Usually around 22 bucks or so per pin including shipping and PayPal costs. I actually do it for a couple people on this forum and would be happy to do it for you as well if you’d like. (Shoot me a PM if you want to work something out.)
As far as where they are sold, Every park at Disney World has a shop that sells them, also at Disney Springs there is a big pin trader store that will sell them as well.
I saw on the WDW resort website that there are 76 stores there that sell pins (taking into account all the parks and hotels). So does this mean that each place gets about a dozen of each 1000 LE pin? And a few dozen for the higher quantity ones? I’m wondering where is the best chance of getting something unique. Of course I’ll be in every shop I come across anyway.
I found one group that will send you a random LE pin for $30 a month but it’s not clear what the markup is and I’m not crazy about the random part. What you do with pickups sounds amazing.
Actually there’s only 1 store in each park that sells the LEs for the most part. With the exception of Magic Kingdom, it’s the first big merchandise place you come on that has pins if I’m not mistaken.
