Takes place August 9-10, 2019 at Epcot World ShowPlace.February 17, 2019 at 12:39 AM #44908
I am super interested in attending this event! It is definitely a theme I am totally in to. I have been a collector for a long time, but pretty small potatoes when it comes to trading as I am from Texas and don’t get to go to the parks nearly enough. I am a little intimidated to attend the event solo, but considering the price, not sure if I can afford to bring a buddy, lol. What tips would you give a first timer? Pros and cons? Is it a come and go type event, all day or does it usually have a more specific schedule of events? Look forward to finding out more as they release more details and appreciate your blog greatly 🙂February 21, 2019 at 5:04 PM #45182
What do you think the cost of the event will be? I have 3 other people who will be with me during this time and I wonder if all of us will be able to attend. Do you get a plus one with your ticket? This is my first pin event I just want to make sure I will have the funds ready when registration comes around!February 21, 2019 at 6:42 PM #45183
In the past, initial registration for the Pin Event was $150. For that money attendees last year got a $30 Gift Card and 9 gift pins, along with the opportunity to purchase other pins via the RSP methodology. No free guests. Everyone who enters the event must have paid the $150 registration fee. They did do a public trading day on Sunday last year and you did not need to register to go to that. I don’t know if they will be doing that again or not.
You certainly don’t need to worry about showing up alone. Pin people tend to be extremely friendly and by the end of the event I predict you will have lots of new pin friends you will be trading with for years to come. There is a large room set aside for trading but the majority of attendees stand in line to trade off the boards in the hopes of getting great Artist Proof, Pre-Production, or unreleased pins. Since the lines are VERY long you’ll have an hour to chat with your line neighbors and get to know them.
The event is open all day but people come and go all the time. Many people leave for lunch although Disney did offer sandwiches you could order and pay for at the time of registration so you wouldn’t have to leave the building if you didn’t want to. There are a few activities that are scheduled (i.e. games, auctions, announcements) but participation is voluntary.

Anxiously awaiting the registration date. Got my room booked already. The theme of this one is very exciting to me. I wasn’t crazy about last years theme.March 2, 2019 at 11:55 AM #45712
I’ve never been to a pin event. To trade off the boards, how incredible does your pin have to be? I have some low, htf LE’s, but I’m worried they aren’t good enough.March 2, 2019 at 4:41 PM #45716
You can trade any pin for pins off the boards.March 13, 2019 at 11:42 AM #46090
Disney just released a bunch of new animal themed merch. Do y’all think this could be a good guide as to the general design for these animals? I would love anything with a cat on it
