Starting a thread for the annual pin event at EPCOT! The 2018 event is called Animation Celebration.
Disney should be announcing the event date very soon.February 6, 2018 at 4:33 AM #26228
Oh man! Thought this was a thread announcing the date. Got really excited for a minute there! Can’t wait!February 6, 2018 at 7:44 PM #26236
Haha! Well… the rumor is August 23-25, 2018.February 7, 2018 at 4:34 PM #26242
Oh I hope that’s true! We went ahead and made a reservation for then… just in case… military discount, and those are hard to get! Figured we’ll change it if we have to. 🙂 By the way, in the interest of saving for this, can we pay for the registration/ticket using a Disney Gift Card?February 9, 2018 at 9:30 AM #26294
I did the same. Lol. Also, if I’m not mistaken I paid for mine last year with a gift card. So you should be ok there.February 9, 2018 at 6:13 PM #26311
Awesome, thanks Chris! I’ll have the money just in case, but trying to save everywhere I can… for more pins, of course! lolFebruary 20, 2018 at 4:21 PM #26622pinqueen1125Participant
Just wondering, Does this event sell out quickly or will we have a few days to purchase tickets?February 21, 2018 at 6:46 AM #26634
I believe there was plenty of time last year to get them. From all that I have seen it seems like events in Florida are much slower to sell out (if they do at all) than the ones in California.February 21, 2018 at 9:15 AM #26635pinqueen1125Participant
I know Ryan is so good at getting information out quickly, So I know I can count on him to keep us informed.February 23, 2018 at 3:07 PM #26718
Thanks 🙂 we will be sure to post the information ASAP!
You should have about 2 months to purchase tickets before they sell out.February 27, 2018 at 8:32 PM #26836DianeMaeParticipant
Anxiously awaiting the date. ? Can’t wait to surprise my two 16 year olds for their birthday.March 9, 2018 at 6:08 PM #27018
Event is August 24-25
Tickets become available April 24 at 1pm ESTMarch 9, 2018 at 8:15 PM #27019DisneyMainstreetFamilyParticipant
This will be our first pin event, do kids need tickets as well or is there an age limit? Also would it be fun for one person that don’t have many traders? I know the pins that you are able to buy with the ticket purchase are epic and a must but wasn’t sure about the event if i dont have many traders?March 10, 2018 at 5:49 AM #27054
Unfortunately kids do need their own tickets, unless they’re super young. I believe if they need a ticket to get into the park they would need a ticket to get into the event.
Last year was my first time and I came with just a small pin book to trade with people and I had a blast. The pins you can get off of the boards are pretty great for the most part and you don’t need anything special to get those. I did most of my trading with the people I was next to in line while waiting for the boards. The people in the back at the tables I felt were “out of my league” but after meeting a bunch of those people at the smaller events and at Epcot many of them are great and can almost always find something of yours that they will want.
Hope this helps.March 10, 2018 at 8:33 AM #27056DisneyMainstreetFamilyParticipant
Ok that’s about what I was thinking about the tickets but was not sure. It sounds like it will be fun, at least I have a little bit of time to work on a few traders. How does the random selection process for the pins work and how much in advance do they show you the release?
